The Chamber of Commerce at Aictz lias informed manufacturers that the deficiency in railway waggons is duo to tho military monopolising all the roll-ing-stock for tho purpose of transporting to Alsace-Lorraine (tho Imperial territory ceded by France to Germany in 1871 as a result of tho Franco-Gor-man war) ammunition and other war material and stores. Prince von Bulow, Gorman Chancellor of tho Exchequer, thanked the contributor to the “Westminster Gazette” for In’s repudiation of tho statement that he inspired any newspaper to write against Lord Lansdowne, British Minister of Foreign Affairs.
