The weather was beautifully fine for training operations this morning, and the going was good, though a trifle slow. The work was not particularly interesting. Gay Spark easily hold Lady Wayward over a mile run in Imin 47sec. Ailsa bent Apollodoris over six furlongs, in Imin 17 4-sscc. Baritutu easily disposed of Douche over a mile and a Quarter in 2min 14 l-sscc. The performance was an attractive one. Qnarryman was in front of Signalman at the end of a mile and a quarter on the plough. Achilles did one round at three-quarter pace. Glenowlet and To-morrow brushed over six furlongs in Imin 17 4-ssec. GUoorka ran right away from Thole over a mil© in Imin 45$sec, finishing well. Veneer and St. Joe saw the end of a mile and a quarter in 2rain 14 4-ssec. # Veneer finishing strongly, easily holding his companion, who was vigorously ridden over the last two furlongs. Petrovna only cantered. Stronghold easily defeated Golden Vein over five furlongs, the last four occupying 50 4-ssec. Mysificatiou and Mahutonga went a mile and a half in 2min 43 l-ssec. Kirriemuir easily disposed of Golden Cairn, Snowstell, Galloway, and Sailmaker. the jurney occupying 49sec. The Taldhnrst quartette were exercised at the barrier, Iluascar creating a favourable impression.

Petrovna has a severe cold and is a doubtful starter at the meeting. Machine Gun worked late, brushing over half a mile.

ON THE ELLEESLIE TRACKS. AUCKLAND, October 31. The weather was fine for tho training operations at Ellorslie this morning. Tho bulk of the work was done on the sand,which was in fair order. Lady Annie covered seven furlongs in Imin 4 sec. Putty ran a round in 2min B|sec. Laudlock beat Loonator over a mile run in Irain 50sec. Annette, alone, traversed the same distance in the same time. Delania was three lengths in front of Scotty over a round, run in 2min 4}sce. Gladstone and Lady Hune saw tho end of seven furlongs in Imin 33sec. Carl Rosa took a second longer over a similar journey. Geordie beat General Average once round in 2rain 4)sec. _ Apologue was two lengths in front of Sir Gilead at the end of seven furlongs, covered in Imin 35sec. King Billy and Boomerang were restricted to half-pace work. Waikato ran a round in 2rain 4sec. The course proper was open for two-vcar-olds. Loongana covered three furlongs iu 40)sec, and Sweet Alice and the Bangle colt left three furlongs behind in 41isoc. The Marjory colt and Conductor traversed a similar distance iu 41Jsec. A number of others did useful work. Multifid, Grenade, Heroism, and Full Cry arrived this morning.
