ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
THU EE MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT. mass ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND. October 31. A Norwegian named Harry Eklund was charged this morning with having attempted to hang himself on October 15th. Ho had been on remand for a week, to ■bo medically treated, and ho pleaded guilty to the charge. His Worship remarked that he could convict and discharge accused, but the awkward part of it was that he had threatened to repeat the attempt upon his life. He sentenced Eklund to three months’ imprisonment without hard labour, telling him to reflect upon the wrong he had done.
