VOLUNTEERS.
Tho Zcalandia Rifles paraded last night at the Central drillsned. Captain Corrigan, who recently had leave of absence. resumed command of the company. Lieutenant Esson, who had temporary command of the company, spoke in high terms of the discipline of the company generally, and the earnestness displayed by non-commissioned officers and men whilst he was in charge, and expressed his pleasure in having been associated with the Zealandia Rifles. After company drill the physical drill squad gave an exhibition under Sergeant_ Neale. Tho gymnasium work in connection with the company has been suspended for the past mouth, owing fo the Art Gallery being required for the Art Society’s exhibition, but will be resumed this week. The company is now nearly up to full strength. Recruiting closes next month. Intending recruits are enrolled upon application to Colour-Sergeant Bunckenberg.
