FIRES.
PSES3 ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, October 30. A fire destroyed a two-story house at Mount Albert owned by Mrs Woods and occupied by Mrs Jenkins. The building was insured for £2OO in the Phoenix Office and the furniture for £2OO in the Royal Exchange Assurance Office. NEW PLYMO UTH, October 30. A fire at W.aitara at three o'clock this morning totally destroyed an unoccupied shop and dwelling owned by Mr W. D. Webster (New Plymouth); also a building owned by Mrs Baker (New Plymouth), and occupied as offices by the Waitnra Borough Council, Clifton County Council, and others. The adjoining buildings narrowly escaped, Mr Webster’s building was insured for £250 in the Law, Union and Crown office, and Mrs Baker’s for £l5O in the North British Office. Tho contents were saved.
