Tho House resumed at 7.30. THROWN OUT. Tho Horowhenua Block .Act Amendment Bill was received from the Legislative Council. On tho motion for the first reading, 3lr Heko called for a •division. The voting was equal —29 for and 29 against. Tho Speaker gave hin vote in favour of the ayes (following tho usual Parliamentary practice), An order to give tho House another opportunity of coming to a decision on <tho question, "although,” he added, “I mm very loth to do so at this stage of tho scission.” The motion, that thobill s>e sot down for its second reading, Was lost by 32 votes to 2S, and tho bill Waa therefore killed. Tho remainder of tho evening sitting was devoted to a discussion in explanation of certain members’ votes appearing in tho report of tho Premier’s ■speech in “Hansard” on the second reading of tho Old Ago Pensions Bill, the explanations being in the direction of showing that they had not voted to kill tho till, as represented by tho Premier, and as circulated (so it was stated) in a pamphlet issued by the Liberal and Labour Federation. The Premier, in reply, quoted “Hansard” to show that thoro had 'been no misrepresentation, and that ho was correct. At 11.40 p.m. tho House rose until ll a.m. to-day.
