FINANCE AND TRADE.
The Customs revenue received yesterday totalled .31353 9s 4d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from London, dated the 25th inst.:—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow —Fine mutton 31s, good/ beef 27s 6d. mixed 25s 9d per cwt. Market firm. New Zealand wheat—We quote spot “ex granary," per 4961b5, longberried 30s fid, short berried 30s. . COMMERCIAL CABLES. PRESS ASSOCIATION. LONDON, October 25. Copper.—On the spot, ss; three months, .£7l 2s fid. Lead, ATI 17s fid. . At the tallow auctions 697 casks were offered and 670 sold. Hides are firm. New Zealand hides in good condition are in special request. Tallow unchanged.
