ANTI-JEWISH RIOTS. ' FORTY BURIED IX OXE DAY. (Received August 16, 10.35 p.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, August 16. Anti-Jowish riots have occurred at Bielostock, on the Polish frontier. The authorities were passive. There was much bloodshed. Forty Jews were buried yesterday. Thousands followed tho remains to the cemetery. DETEXTIOX OP A NOVELIST. ST. PETERSBURG, August 13. Tho Governor of Warsaw has ordered tho detention of Sienkiewicz, tho wellknown novelist, in his domicile for signing a public protest against tho Russification of Polish schools.
