AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL.
Last evening the Stewart Dawson Cup was presented to the Newtown Club for tho second season. Mr J. T. Kelly, secretary of the Wellington League of Australian Football, made the presentation (in the absence of the president), and congratulated the secretary of Newtown Chib (Mr J. J. Callaghan) on the club again winning the premiership. During the evening Mr J. Hall, on behalf of the club presented Mrs Callaghan, through Mr J. J. Callaghan, with a handsome souvenir for services rendered to tho club during the past two seasons. Songs were contributed by Messrs Parsons, Hall, Merrick, McCallum, Datt and Hallam.
