The city fish markets (says the ‘'Sydney Homing Herald” of ' the 22nd insh) were over-supplied with firstclass fish last week, , particularly on Friday and Saturday, and buyers were able to purchase schnapper as low as 3d per pound, and large black bream for 15s per basket of about 801 b weight. Most of the schnapper arrived from the northern and southern fishing grounds in capital order. The bream did not keep so well as their red brethren. The supply was also fat in excess of the demand in several other species, but beyond an increased, display, of schnapper and other fish in many city shops, the public had very little benefit from the glut, Jis schnapper wore retailed as high as !)d per lb. The lowjest retail price was 5Jd per lb.
