THE NEW SOUTH WALES INQUIRY. (Received Mnv 31, 10.55 p.ra.) SYDNEY, Way 31. Air Bath, who when giving evidence before tho Lands Commission refused to give tho name of tho person who drew a certain Dill, was proceeded against at tho Police Court to-day by tho Crown. Counsel for defendant said tho latter was now willing to give tho name to tho Commission. Tiie case was adjourned.
Mr Bath, a land agent giving evidence on May £3rd.stated that he had been paid 411501) as his share of tho commission on tho sale of tho Myall Crock estate to tho Government. Tho money was paid by 'cheque for AJ1323 signed by Mr W. N. Willis (ex-M.L.A.), a bill for .£l5O, and the balance in cash. Ho handed tho whole of tho money to Mr Crick, then Minister for Lands, who purchased Government debentures for him. Ho was repeatedly pressed to say who drew tho bill, but would not.
