CONTRACT LABOUR LAWS.

Mr Lyttelton, Secretary of State for the Colonies, stated iu the Douse of Commons, that in cot a single case had a British workman liaall.v been refused permission to land iu Australia. So few cases of refusal arose under the contract labour’law that the .Government was not justified in refusing, to sanction important Commonwealth legislation on that account.
