FIRES.
PRESS ASSOCIATION. WANGANUI, December 19. A seven-roomed • residence, lately occupied by C. A.‘Dunn, at present unoccupied, owned by R. J. Rhodes, was burned to the . ground last night. The "house and sheds were insured in the National, North British and Mercantile offices for £SCO. v. - GISBORNE, December 20. A fire in. the main street (the first for seven years), broke out this morning, three small al\ops being destroyed, occur pied by Atwood (dealer in furniture), Smith Brog.' (hairdressers and tobacconists), and J. Thompson (florist). The complete insurances are not ascertainable, but all owners will bo losers to' a considerable extent. The origin of the fire is not known. :
