In order to reduce the deficit the State Government 'will probably propose additional taxation of a moderate . amount, and will also carry out a little more pruning in the public service. The State revenue for the year amounts to .63,526.000, and the expenditure to .£3,017,000. The State Premier (Mr R. Philp) resents the extension of the Vancouver mail service contract at an advanced subsidy without Queensland having been consuited. . , , , , PERTH. July 3. A. belated; passenger by the steamer Marloo, while trying to climb on board by moans of a rope, was crushed to death between the vessel and the wharf. He sustained fearful injuries. _ _ „ .
