SIR HARRY RAMSON’S VISIT.

NORFOLK ISLAND. Alay 29. The warship Royal Arthur, with the New South Wales Governor (Sir Harry Rawson) on board, arrived here yesterday forenoon. His ■ Excellency and Vice-Admiral Fanshawo landed immediately, and were received by tho Deputy Administrator, ‘ Chief Alagistratc and officials. Addresses of welcome were presented, and tho party was escorted to the town by the Island Contingent. In the afternoon Sir Harry Rawson addressed a largo assemblage. He stated that certain subjects were closed and definitely settled, and could not bo re-opened. One was the Crown’s right to the land and the Government buildings. There would be no moro free grants of land, the policy of the future being to lease, not to sell. A largely-attended levee at Government House followed. The inhabitants were invited to interview Sir Harry Rawson in regard to matters of publid interest.

Tho flagship leaves to-morrow.

The weather is bad on the island, and a heavy sea is running on the coast.
