SYDNEY, January 22,
M. McDonald has challenged “Major” Taylor to a scries of races for a prize of £ioo. Taylor is going to Melbourne to meet T. Robl, the world’s champion pace follower. in throe paced races. [McDonald is a native of Victoria, although ho first gained a reputation as a cyclist in West Australia. Three years ago on tho Australian circuit he was almost invincible, and frequently since has shown great form. Ho rides a 104-inch gear in handicap or scratch events.]
