RIFLE SHOOTING.

CITY RIFLES. The City Rifles held a competition on Saturday at Karori. The conditions were seven shots each at SUO and -600yds for the A class, and ten shots at 300yds for -the C class. The leading scores were os follows! ' A CLASS.

PETONE RIFLE CLUB. Very pleasant weather prevailed on Saturday afternoon, when the Petone Rifle Club held competitions at the IVaiwetu range. More interest than usual was taken, as this was the first match counting for the shield and other aggregate prizes. The other trophies competed for were those given by Messrs A. Lodder, Trevethiolc, Simmonds and Ballinger, the first four on the list getting respective wins. Principal scores:
