TRADE WITH CANADA.
MELBOURNE, November 22. In reference to trade with Canada, Sir Edmund Barton, federal Premier, had a conference with Sir William Mulock,Postmaster-General. when, visiting tho Dominion. Sir William promised to communicate with Sir Edmund Barton later.
Tho Premier states that if anything is done and an increased subsidy is paid there must bo a considerable improvement on tho existing sendee. Whatever arrangements were effected, Canada, Now Zealand and Australia would probably co-operate. The imperial Government, says Sir 'Edmund, lias not yet indicated whether it would participate.
