TO-DAY’S GAMES. Three games for the senior championship of the Wellington Rugby Union will ,s played at Miramar to-day—Wellington v. Atliletic, Old Boys v. Melrose, and Poneke v. Oriental. On the Athletic Park a representative public schools game will be played between Wairarapa and Wellington, also the annual inteieollege game between St. Patrick’s and AVellington Colleges. The team of representative Wairarapa schoolboys arrived in the city last night. They appear to be a weighty lot of juveniles. One of their number—Work-man-plays in the back division of the Wairarapa juniors. The match between the town and country boys on the Athletic Park should be an interesting one. This evening the visitors will be entertained at dinner at Godber’s rooms by the Wellington Public Schools Rugby Union. The Nelson representatives have abandoned their proposed match against Wairarapa. The reason given is that Smith, the champion five-eighths of- Sleepy Hollow, is unable to obtain the necessary leave of absence.
