Entering the straight, Flame .showed in from., but below tlio distance Shellback took charge. Scyila came with a strong run from the middle of the field, and looked like winning, but failed to stay out too last funong, Shellback beating her homt by a bare length, Count of Kolmar, who finished fast, half a length away, Flame fourth, Puawai fifth. Somorlod was fractious at the post, but when tlio tapes flow up the field got away well, with the exception of Pay, who was left. Winsome showed momentarily in front, but Goldspur and Lady Brandt at once took up tho running, and led Titoki by a clear two lengths round tho back stretch, Blazer and Cora Linn lying next. Turning into tho straight Goldspur took charge, bnfc tho field- closed up, Somerled and Titoki being prominent. Goldspur appeared to have tlio race in hand, but tired over the last half-furlong, and a magnificent race saw Titoki squeeze up on the rails in time to win by a bare nose, Rosemere a long neck away third, Somerled fourth a nock away, the others all close up. Brab led Zither over the first fence, with Doopey lying third, and the three practically had tho race to themselves, the two first-named running together past tho stand and all round the back. Royal Coiiqworor ran round the first fence, over which Tresham and Roller wore tho first to show, closely followed by Scottish Minstrel and Mars, the same order being maintained over the stand hurdle. Running to Cutts’s, Tresham was still in command of Roller, with Long Tom, Alars and Scottish Minstrel next,' in front of Battleaxe and Surrey, Huku,last just behind Cavalioro. All down the back stretch Tresham continued to show tho way, and af the seven-furlong post Was a length clear of Scottish Minstrel, with Alars, Waiwera and Battleaxe as nearest attendants. At the five-furlong fence Scottish Minstrel joined Tresham, and the pace was increased. Five lengths further on they rose together at f the last fence, but once on tho flat Tresham drew out and won very easily by eight lengths. X great _ race ensued for second place, Alars -finishing half a length in front of Wniwora. who was the same distance in front of Scottish Minstrel, Surrey fifth, ivoluiuui sixth, Battleaxe seventh, Huku. last. Running to Cutts’s the second time, Awahuri was just leading Cannongate and Straybird, Pipi closing up. The same order was maintained down tho back and over tho kennels double. Awahuri foil at the sod wall, leaving Cannongate in command, but ho, too, fell at the post-and-rails, Tho Swimmer following suit. Sultana then came on, and won easily from Pipi, who was tiring. They ran in the same order to tho home turn, when Scotty was clour of tho field. He was challenged in turn by Ardnarff, Kelpy and Field Battery, hut. easily holding his own, won comfortably by throe lengths, Ardnarff beating Fleka by a length for second place, Kelpy, Muscovite and AVindwhistle next.
