The annual general meeting of the Eangitikei sub-union was held at Marion on Saturday evening. Mr U, Cohen presided. There were sixteen delegates present including Messrs Wylie and Eobinson representing Palmerston North. The Sandon club was not represented, but wrote disapproving the affiliation of the Palmerston clubs. Applications for affiliation were received from the Bulls, Eata, Utiku, Palmerston and Institute (Palmerston) clubs. The first three were unanimously admitted to the union. Mr Young (Marton) proposed and Mr Morgan (Feilding) seconded that both Palmerston clubs be admitted to the union. The motion was strenuously opposed by the northern division, and in spite of the vigorous manner iff wElch the claims of the Palmerston clubs were urged by their delegates, and by the proposer and seconder of the motion, the Palmerston clubs wore excluded by 11 votes to 7. The main point of objection to the Palmerston clubs was that PalmersWh being a big town tne clubs wodld be likely to prove too strong for the teams of the smaller localities.. Now that Palmereton players have been debarred from playing under the auspices of the Eangitikei sub-union it behoves those having an interest in the winter game in the Manawatu district to bestir themselves to resuscitate the Manawatu union. Special to the "Times.” WANGANUI, April 14. At a meeting of the Eugby Union it was resolved, after discussion on the application of the Pirate Club for the removal of the suspension imposed last season, that the disqualification he removed excepting as it affected those members of the club who were individually dealt with and whose term of suspension has not yet expired. In reply to a communication from the Poneke Club (Wellington), asking for removal of the suspension passed on C. Seeling, it was resolved that the letter be handed over to the new committee with a recommendation that the application be not entertained.
