ENTERTAINMENTS.

DIN’S GAIETY COMPANY. The Theatre Royal was filled in all parts last evening, and a more enthusiastic audience never assembled in this 'popular placo of amusement. Athas, and Collins, who made thoir re-appear-ance, received a warm welcome. Their now sketch was oven more amusing than those given on their first visit. Miss Collins’s singing, and tho eccentric dancing and whimsicalities of Athas, quite brought down the house. The appearance of Miss Collins in tho second part was equally successful. Miss Belle Ray’s contralto songs and Mr Wallace King’s tenor solos were warmly received. Sivroni and Silvini, the Lingard sisters, and Mr Jas. Harvey’s clover imitations were all successful, as, indeed, was the whole programme, which will be repeated this evening. * MDLLE. DOLORES. Mdlle. Antoini Dolores, hotter known as Trobelli, has just concluded a successful tour, embracing New Plymouth, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Napier and Christchurch. In order to fulfil a contract entered into some twelve months ago, tho distinguished soprano had to proceed direct to New Plymouth from Hobart, so as to keep her engagements. Wellington will bo visited on the Bth, 9th, 10th and 12th May. Mr Clarence NowelK an American pianist, will assist Mdlle. Dolores during her tour. Mr E. Vert, of London and New York, is directing the tour, and Mr James Tait is acting as manager for Mr Vert.

The Anderson Dramatic Company at the Opera House last night concluded its Wellington season with a representation of the spectacular melodrama entitled “The World’s Verdict.” Mr E. H. Stevenson, an English lecturer and entertainer, at present appearing in the South Island, has booked the Exchange Hall for a short season, commencing from Saturday night. M Stevenson has the latest improved bioscope, and exhibits animated pictures of new and interesting subjects. Mr Frank St. Hill’s Sporting Life Company will give an entertamment in the Public Hall at Upper Hutt this evening. , Mr Phil. Worth was in town yesterday on his way to New Plymouth to make arrangements for Wirth Bros s Circus, to open there on the 23rd mst.
