(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Monday. Captain Hall has resigned command of tho Woodvillo Volunteers owing to continued ill-health preventing him from taking an active interest in the corps. Groat regrot is expressed among tho men, as Captain Hall has always been a most popular officer. Tho Woodvillo Library is going in for tho erection of a largo reading-room in front of tho present building. An exhaustive report on the proposal to light Woodvillo by electricity from headworks on tho Mangaatua river was laid before the Council. The estimated cost is £12,000. The scheme was referred to tho Lighting Committee.
