DUNEDIN, March 9.
GREYMODTH, March 8. The following returns arc to hand: — A 1 (Reefton), 40oz for 128 hours; Builet Junction, 16oz for 90 hours; Grey River, 12oz for 105 hours; Greenstone Creek, 12oz sdwt (no time given); Leviathan, 42qz 4dwt for 115 hours; North Beach, 760 z of amalgam; Pactolus, 340 z 14dwt for 124 hours; Reeves Proprietary, 270 z lOdwt for 107 hours. HOKITIKA, March 8. The Hokitika River dredge obtained 350 z for 86 hours’, work. Tho local director of the Premier (Buller) Gold Dredging Company wires that tho return is lOoz for 131 hours work. Tho Rocklands Beach dredge obtained 290 z lOchvt amalgam for 115 hours work. , , , , . , The Hau Hau Creek dredge obtained 13oz fidwt gold for eighty-seven hours’ dredging. The return of tho Mosquito Gold Dredging Company for 86 hours’ work is 220 z lldwt. ■ REEFTON, March 8. The Alpine mine' manager reports that No. 11 level ’ south has been extended 6ft, making tho total distance from where the reef was first struck 45ft. A branch drive north has been extended 6ft, making the total distance , from the main drive 29ft. The reef in the north end is looking well. It is three feet wide, and good gold is to be seen in it. The contractors in No. 7 level have driven 10ft, making the total distance 80ft. They are now cross-cutting east from the level for the purpose of picking up tho small reef. ' ■
