Russian newspapers discuss the AngloJapanese alliance with equanimity. A boy who had been selling fruit in a Sydney theatre is the latest plague sufferer there. Official advices give particulars of casualties to New Zealand soldiers in South Africa. The British naval and military estimates have been presented to the House of Commons. Fourteen hundred of General De Wet’s force crept back whilst the recent drive was in progress. Scouts, described as a kind of marine gallopers, form the latest type of vessel to ,be added to the British navy.
