NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING COMPANY,

The following are the approximate movements of the Now Zealand Shipping Company’s fleet;—The Rakaia, now at Port Chalmers, is to sail from the Bluff for London on the 25th instant. The Ruapehu, now at Lyttelton, will leave Wellington for London on the 6th March. The Wakanui left London on the sth January, and is due at Wellington on the 25th instant, and will sail for Loudon again from this port on the 3rd April. The Whakatauo left London on the 28th December, and is due at Auckland on the 23rd instant. This vessel will sail for London in April. The Perthshire (chartered) is due at the Bluff on the 23rd March from London, and will sail Homeward bound, from Wellington on the 12th April. The Paparoa left London on the Ist of this month, and is due at Wellington on the 21st March, sailing again from the colony for London on the 24th April. The Tongariro will leave London on the Ist March, is due at Auckland PA the 23rd April, and jail sail for

London on the 22nd May. The Rimutaka is to take her departure from London on the 29th March, and is duo at. AVellington on tho 13th May. She wiU sail for London on tho 19th June. Tho AVaimato will leave London on the 31st March, arrive at Port Chalmers on or about 20th May. and leave the colour, Homeward bound, in June. The Pananui will sail from London on the 26th April, is due at AVellington on the 15th Juno, and will sail for London again on the 17th July. The Otarama will leave London on the 30th April, and should arrive at Auckland on the 291 h June, leaving the colony again for Loudon in J uly. THE INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. Tho Monowai arrived hero on Saturday morning from Melbourne via Hoabrt and Southern ports with 420 tons of cargo. She left in tho afternoon for Sydney direct with about 150 tons of cargo, composed principally of scrap iron and flax. There was also sent away 25 boxes of butter for transhipment to A’ancouver. BABQUENTINE NEPTUNE, FROM NEWCASTLE. At ono o’clock yesterday afternoon the tug Duco towed into harbour the barquentine Neptune, from Newcastle. Captain Carlson reports that the vessel loft the Australian port on tho sth instant, and experienced light north-east winds till tho 14th, when a heavy westerly rale was encountered. Light winds afterwards prevailed, and tho vessel arrived as above. The Neptune, which comes to tho agency of Mr o. Brown, has about 450 tons of coal to discharge at this port. THE AVEATHEK. AVELLINGTON OBSERVATORY. The weather records taken at the AA’ellingtou Observatory at 9 a.m. yesterday were as follow;—Barometer, 29.72; maximum shade temperature previous 24 hours. 65; minimum shade temperature previous 24 hours, 52; rainfall previous 24 hours, .Olin; wind, north-west.
