A* committee has been set up by the Borough Council to meet a committee of the Mastcrton County Gounod and consider the question of increased dr. mauds made upon the ratepayers for maintenance of tho hospital. The overdraft, on general account of the Mastcrton Borough Council has now reached tho respectable sum of £3030 6s Bd. Tho remains of Hie late Mr John Smith were interred in Mastcrton ccmo; tery this afternoon. The funeral procession included a number of members of tho local branch of tho Veterans’ Association. Tho graveside ceremony was conducted by tho Very Rev Dean McKenna. A squad of Mastcrton Rifles formed tho firing party.
