SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.
ARRIVAL OF THE SONOMA. PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, November 12. Tho Sonoma, with the inward San Francisco mail on board, arrived here this morning. Tho mail agent, in his report to tho Secretary of tho General Post Office, states that tho mails ex Etruria were received at Now York at 4.30 p.m. on October 19th, and were forwarded by tho Hudson river train, which was despatched at 9.15 p.m. the same day. The mails missed the through connec, tion train at Chicago, and arrived at 1 p.m. on October 24th ; seventeen hours late. Tho Sonoma sailed tho same day at 4.10 p.m. and arrived at Honolulu at 10.30 a.m. on October 30th. Loft tho next morning at 4.40, reached Pago Pago at 7.40 a.m. on November 6th, and resumed the voyage tho same day at 11.28 a.m. The vessel arrived at Auckland at 3 a.m. yesterday, the voyage having occupied 17 days 15 hours 1 minute. On tho last two days of the voyage strong winds and heavy seas were mot with. Tho Takapuna, with tho Wellington and Southern portions, left Onohunga at 10.30 yesterday morning, and is expected in Wellington at about midday to-day. Tho Takapuna has also on board a largo Brindisi mail, transhipped from the Elingamito at Auckland.
