(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Wednesday, 7 p.m. The county elections resulted as follows: —Mangaatua Riding—Nelson 31", Harris 25, Beattie 24. Kumeroa—Pattison 60. Buchanan 47. Lynch 30, McDonald 13. . Maharahara —Smith 32, Birkahn 25. Goldfinch 25,- Grainger 13. The new Council is composed of. the following members:—Messrs McCormick. Morgan* Nelson, Harris, Pattison. Buchanan. Smith. Birkahn. The first meeting will be held on Saturday.; At a meeting of the Council held this afternoon to consider tenders for. the sup ply of pipes for the water works, four tenders were received. That of Briscoe, Mac Neil and Co. was accepted. The Mayor notified that he had received word that a Treasury loan of £10,320 was at the disposal of the Council. A long discussion took place as to when the work could be gone on with. In all probability a fair start will he made in the autumn.
