watu'Fitzherhert road district being constituted the Kairanga County, and the Mayor was authorised to forward the resolution to Committee of the House.
The concert given bv members of the Orchestral Society last_ evening was a huge success. Tlie society contributed the following selections during the even, ing;—-Ramble” (Matt, op. 8), inci. dental music to "Rosamundc’ (Schu bort), intermezzo, "Aerial'’ (J. OrdHume) and a selection from the opera "San Toyi” Vocal selections were contributed bv Miss la. Tansley and Miss Permain, the latter filling the place of Mr A. S. Batlance (Wellington), who was prevented from singing by indisposition. The theatre was crowded, and the general opinion is that the concert was one of the most successful held by the society. Mr M. Cohen conducted.
