COSTS OF DIVORCE.

PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN. August 5. The question as to w-hether tho new divorce rules made any alteration in the practice with regard to payment of a wife’s costs by a husband was decided by Mr Justice Williams in the case of McMaster v. MoMaster, the huband’s peti. tion. The old divorce rules contained specific provisions. These were repealed, and the new rules provide that the Judge may at any time order a husband to pay costs to the wife and find security for future costs. His Honor held that the new rules did not alter the principle by which a husband is bound to orovide funds for a wife defending herself. In the present case the husband had paid £SO, but the wife demanded another £IOO and he offered £3O.
