STRIKES IN AMERICA,
(Received August 6, 0.19 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 5. The American Steel Corporation is preparing to fight to a finish, and teleigraphs its intention to expel members of the Amalgamated Metal-workers’ Association from all mills controlled by th e . corporation. The strike is extending to the National Steel, the Federal Steel and the National Tube Companies. The strikers will then number 165,000. The Amalgamated Metal-workers’As-sociation declares that its members embrace 75 per cent, of the American Steel Corporation’s employees.
