CHINA AND THE POWERS.
THE INDEMNITY QUESTION. (Received May 25, 1.10 aim.) LONDON, May 24. The Ministers at Pekin have rejected the proposal of the United states Government to reduce the indemnity demanded from China, and nave agreed to increase the import duties to an effective 5 per cent. Germany supports the British proposals as to the manner in willed tno indemnity snail be paid. General Chaffee and all the American troops in Pekiu have been withdrawn.
