The Customs returns for yesterday amounted <6 £4llO 17s 4d. Messrs Murray, Boberts and Co. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London house, Messrs Sanderson. Murray and Co., da. ted 27th inst.; Sales have closed strong. Good attendance of. buyers. Market shows no material change.Greasy merino advanced 7-1 to 10 per cent; scoured merino - advanced 7i percent. Fine greasy, crossbred advanced 5 per cent. Held over 58,000 bales. At the Taratahi yards on Tuesday sheep were chiefly represented by breeding ewes, of which some very good sorts were offered. At Wanganui on Wednesday, Messrs Freeman R. Jack-on and) Co. had a full yarding of sheep, which consisted chieli of half to three-quarterbred wethers and ewes - (small) from Moawhango district, on account of several natives from that district. The auctioneer couldn’t manage to do business with them, the reserves being excessive throughout.
