I HEREBY give notice that the Council of the Borough of Petone proposes, under “The Municipal Corporations Act. 1900, ’ to Borrow by way of Special Loan the sum of Twenty-three Thousand hive Hundred Pounds (1.23,500) for the following public work, viz.: Providing a supply of water to the Borough and for constructing waterworks and purchasing and otherwise acquiring land, streams, water rights, easements and other property within and without the Borough for the purposes aforesaid, and for paying any compensation in respect ot lands and taken or injuriously affected in and about the carrying out of such works, and other claims in relation thereto. And the Council also proposes to make and pledge as security for such loan and the interest thereon, in addition to tlie charge on the waterworks and the revenlies thereof created by Section 122 of The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” a special rate of sixpence in the pound (annual basis) on all ratable property Un the Borough and proposes that the whole amount of the loan and interest thereon shall be repayable by half-yearly instalments at the rate of three and a halt per cent.
