Tiio Hon O. IT. Mills, who has been representing tho Government at tho Cheviot Agricultural Show, returned to Wellington by tho Hotomahana yesterday.
Tho wedding was cerebrated at St. James’s Church, Now-town, on Wednesday afternoon of Mr Carl Albert Sciiauer and Miss Ellen Goodwin. The bride' was attended by Miss Esther Goodwin and Miss Schauer. Mr Peter Thomson was best man, and Mi* 31. Carr groomsman. The service was a chora’ one, and tho Rev W. Shiror officiated Tho wedding breakfast was held fri the residency of the bride’s parents, Jimtoul street.
Dr fc’.olf, the Governor of Samoa, who (accompanied by Dr Funk, Chief Medical Officer at Samoa), has bean visiting Auckland and 'Wellington, left for Sydney on Saturday. His Excellency was much pleased-with what he had seen of tho North Island, and promises to derail he can to promote trade between Now Zealand and Samoa. While in Auckland Dr Soli; placed with Mcasre R. and A. Logan an order for a 50-ton oil launch for Ids own nso at the islands.
