Wo are informed that the Waimangaroa River Gold Dredging Company, Ltd, has just completed the putting down of a shaft 6ft x 4ft on the freehold portion of its claim at Waimangaroa. The bottom of the shaft was reached at a depth of 26ft 6in, and proved to be of a marine formation, or packed sand. Nine pennyweights .of gold was obtained from this shaft. Gold was first struck at a depth of 12ft Gin, from this depth to the bottom prospects equals nearly 18 grains per cubic yard, or from top of shaft to the bottom, 26ft Gin, prospects equal 0 grains per cubic yard. This proves the thirty acres of the freehold. It is probable that a shaft will now be sunk in the rivor to prove that portion of the claim, ' DUNEDIN SHAREMARKET. PEESS ASSOCIATION.
