Patrick Kain was fined £l, or .seven days’ imprisonment, for drunkenness, and a first-offender was. convicted and discharged. An investigation into a charge of theft against two hoys resulted in the case being,dismissed. A hoy named Charles Fleming was convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence when called on, on a charge of stealing a cash-box and two silver medals, valued at £l, the property of Matthew Cashen, from the house of Mrs Pieton.
For stealing a coat belonging to James Barringer, Edgar Gustave March, a Marchs, was sentenced to one.month’s imprisonment at the conclusion of his nresont sentence. -
John. O’Brien was chargor! with as. sault by Judah Bar-lit, bat informant, by his counsel (Ur Young), iniiinatotj that he did not int'-ad to jn’oceed further in the-case. Counsel's foe, Li' its. was allowed. Mr Myers appeared for O’Brien. ■' Alice Maud Carter and Margaret Wilton, charged with stealing two pairs of stockings, valued afc-2s:6d. the property of Mr. Cd Smith, Cuba. street, not'guilty. Mr'M.’Liiokie appeared for the accused. After bearing the evidence, his Worship said ho considered the charge had been clearly proved, and inflicted a fine of 5s in each case.
