MEETINGS

The annual meeting of members of the Wellington Physical Training School will be held at the Trocadoro this evening.

The third annual meeting of St. Peter’s Club was held in the schoolroom last evening, when there was a full attendance of members. The president (Rev W. O. Waters), who was in the chair, was-welcomed back by tho members of the club. Tho balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £34 11s sd, last year’s operations having been commenced with a credit of £l9 6s 3d. : There are 112 active and three honorary members. The following office-bearers wore elected:-Vice-presidents, Rev G. P. Davys, Messrs G. H. Bethune, C. J. Hardy and R. Wilberfoss (re-elected) ; editor of magazine, Mr F. E. Franklyn; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr J. A. Martin; trustees, Lieut.-Colonel Hume and Mr H. Gilmer (re-elected); auditor, Mr P. C. Crease (re-elected); committee, Messrs J. E. Perry, J. T. Rash, G. Deslandes, J. J. S. Stevenson and it. Waters. A vote of thanks was accorded tho Rev G. P. Davys for acting as chairman throughout last session. The session commences on April 4th. A special meeting of the Trades and Labour Council was hold last night te discuss the question of the council taking part in the approaching municipal elections. After considerable discussion, it was decided “That as tho time was too short to select candidates to be. rim in the interests of labour, that the council should content itself by giving its support only to those candidates who' a.ro iu favour of a progressive policy.” The following nominations were received, at tho ordinary meeting of the .'council for the various offices ,for the ensuing year:—President, Messrs W. Nanghton, D. McLaren, H, O. Fuller; vice-president. Messrs W. H. Hampton, Noote! and Vail; secretary, Mr A. H. Cooper (Mr R. E. Vaney, who lias occupied the position of secretary for the past six years, declined nomination) ; treasurer, Messrs A. Graff and R. E.
