i ROVERS CLUB. i The annual meeting of members of the - Rovei-s Football Club was held at the Colonial Alutual Buildings last evening. There was a good attendance of members. 1 I Mr A. E. Ginbs (vice-president) occupied I the chair. The past season opened with a credit balance of i;3 5s lid, and closed with £3 11s 3d. The president (Mr J. W. Abbott; had rendered great assistance to the club during his six years’ term of office, and was eleete dan honorary' life member. The report stated that the senior team had acted as runner-up to the Diamond Club. The record for championship matches was eight games played, six won, one lost and one drawn. Altogether, eleven matches were played, of which eight were won. two drawn and one lost, in the tournament games played at Auckland, tho club was represented by Messrs Peyton (captain), Godber anti Clarke. The third eleven nearly doubled its membership. The A team had a record of ten matches played, six being won, two drawn and two lost. Although f the ’B team was mostly composed of new players, it made a very creditable showing, j The medals presented by Air Al. Eraser for the best players were won by Alessrs I Condliffe (bacs.; and AlcCarriscn (forward). The thanks of the members were accorded to the president and vice-presidents for , their donations, and to Messrs Staples and 1 Go. and Bowden Bros, for providing refreshments for the match played with a • team from 8.A1.5. Royal Arthur. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows ; —President, Mr J. AV. Abbott (reelected); vice-presidents, Alessrs C. H. Izard, J. AV. Evans. A. E. Gibbs, C. Godber and A. J. Abbott; captain. Air AV. Auld (re-elected); vice-captain. Air F. Williams (re-elected); treasurer, Mr Al. Fraser (re-elected), general committee, Messrs C. Godber, J. Peyton and AVilliams; match committee, Alessrs Auld, Godber, AVilliams; delegates to AVellington Football Association, Alessrs Auld and Godber. The following new members were elected ;—-Alessrs J. and G. Fear, C. Downes, A. Ginrod, Davis, Buker-Gibb, E. Swinerd and F. Cowden. Mr A. E. Gibbs renewed his offer of medals for the junior team in the event of it winning the junior championship. THE OLD BOYS’ CLUB. The annual report of the AVellington College Old Boys’ Football Club, to be submitted to the meeting to-morrow evening. states that the club has now lIS members (of whom 62 are active). Fifty-five members were elected during last season, and there were very few resignations. The balance-sheet discloses a balance of T 37 19s. Last year the club entered senior football, and played ten champion, ship matches, of which three were won three drawn and four lost. The second fif- , teen won six championship matches out of ten played, and tho third fifteen one out of nine played.
