He knew that if his mistake were discovered in the market it would moan a swift putting down of the price. He calmly traii '- 'orred the bargain to the bear side of his dealing-book and walked into the centre of the market, asking the price •>f Associated. Those around caught sight of his innccently-open book, saw that he was, as they thought, a bear of 1500 shares, and started lustily bidding for them. Tire astute jobber bv this means was enabled t° soil »U his shares at J profit, clearing £lB7 10s over the error.
