x PEESS ASSOCIATION. TIMAKU, March. 8. The Canterbury District Grand Lodgs of Druids opened its annual session her* last night. Fifteen out of_ eighteen lodges were represented. The reports show a membership in. Canterbury of 1617, a net increase of 80. The sate funds amounted to £22,788, an increase of £1306 in eleven years. .Since it became independent of Victoria tn* sum of £2700 had been paid on account of the funeral fund, £II,BOO m sick ppy, and £12,000 in doctors’ few. A proposal to take a plebiscite on the question of adopting a system of a funeral levy of sixpence per member was approved by a bare majority, to earry t to the 8.. A, Chapter. The rules were amended 1 to give 20s instead! of 10s per week for the first six months of sick-pay. A proposal to establish. female lodges was l rejected.
