WESLEYAN CONFERENCE

SIXTH DAY. Tho Stationing Committee met at 9 o'clock yesterday morning, and finally adopted the following alterations in the first draft. The alterations rend as follows :—Auckland, Mount Albert, Rev T. K. Thomas, M.A. ; Upper Thames, Rev O. Abcrnethy; Northern' Wairoa, Rev T. N. Griffin: Tau range, Rev W. G. Thomas; Rangitikei, Rev W. Keall; Palmerston. North, Rev S. Lawry and 1 Rev T. W. Nevvbokl ; Gisborne, Rev D. E. Rothwcll : Dannevirke, Rev G. ■S. Cook: Palliatua. Rev J. W. Worboys; Richmond, Rev T. G. Can-; Blenheim, Rev G. W. J. Spoilce; Knia.poi, Belfast, Rev C. Porter; Balfduthu. Rev A. C. Lawry; Riverton. Rev E. W. Boyes; Roxburgh, Rev L. ,|. Ryan; Cromwell, Rev W. Dawson. It was announced at tho representative session that the Triennial General Conference would meet in Brisbane on the 17th May next.

Dr Morley presented the general report on church property, also the report of the custodian of deeds, and that of the authorised representative, all of which were received and adopted. Tho Rev Dr Morley was subsequently reappointed to the office of general secretary.

Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr A. C. Caughey for the gift of a parsonage site at Mount Albert, Auckland, valued at £l5O, and to Air 11. Smith for a, gift of land at Oamaru. Some time was thou devoted to the consideration of .recommendations to the General Conference for making certain alterations in' the 1 laws and regulations of tho Church. It may be mentions! that the annual conference is simply administrative.. Tho following alteration. 1 ; in the laws and regulations were recommended for the approval of the Triennial General Conference :

1. Membership Test.—That, tha members of the Australasian Wesleyan 31eIhodist Church .have their names inserted on tho church' roll. They arc expected to. participate in tho Lord’s) Supper and are recommended to meet in class.

2. Election of President.—A revision of the law was recommended so as to allow of the president of tho annua! conference to bo elected at the preceding conference. 3 Eight of Laymen.—That in order to allow lay representatives a seat at the first meeting of Vue Stationing Committee, the first meeting of that committee be hold on the morning of

the second day*of the session, the laymen being elected as at present on the first day. 4. That tho first reading of tho stations bo given on the evening*of the second day. That laymen bo permitted to exercise their vote on each day of the .stations.

6. Quarterly Meeting.—That the constitution of tho quarterly meeting be so amended as to provide for an equitable proportion of its members ’ being annually elected by the members of the churches. 6. Invitations to Ministers. —That the invitations to ministers be given at. the December quarterly meeting, instead of September.

7. Deaconesses. —that the conference be recommended to re-organise an order of deaconesses, that their names appear on tho conference minutes, and that they have a seat in the quarterly meeting of tho circuit, in winch they are employed; also that there bo some un.iiomi lUoGiod of admission, and that they be publicly dedicated to their work

8. Annual Conference.—That the constitution be so amended by the General Conference as to allow laymen equal rights and privileges with ministers on all questions save those of a ministerial character. For the General Conference to moot at Brisbane in May nest the following were elected cx-othcio members:— Roy C. 11, Garland, president ; Her D. ,T. Murray, secretary ; Her William Loe. and Mr William. Harris treasurers of children’s fund. The following were also elected by ballot: —Hers Morley, D.D., 11., Bull, p. W. Fah'cTongh, J. -S. Smah ley. W. Bnumbor. 11. 11. Dewsbury, J. J. Lewis. Geo. Bond, J. Orchard and J. H. Simmouds. Also, Messrs Blackwell, Hosevear, Caughey, T. Allen, P. J.

Smith, Harding, Prudhoe, Corkhill. Benbow, T. Buddie, J. Manchester. Prime. Ti7o Conference (hen adjourned til! 9.30 this morning.
