The Union Steam Ship Company and the Huddart, Parker and Company Proprietary have in this issue a notice to consignees of goods from'Sydney. The usual half-yearly dividend at 7] per cent, in the Standard Fire and Marine Insurance Company of New Zealand, with a bonus of 2.'- per cent., is now payable at the company's office, Customhouse quay. Tenders are invited by the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways for timber-supply contracts. The Department also requires tenders for the supply of uniforms and caps. Messrs Macdonald, Wilson and Co. will submit to-day a catalogue of town and suburban landed properties. Town acre No. 892 has been subdivided into ten first-class building sites, having to Owen and Lawrence streets and varying from 29ft to 40ft bv long depths. They form admirable sections. Town acre 843, fronting Daniel street, and having also the advantage of a 6ft right-of-way to Regent street, will be sold in cno lot. This acre is almost a level one, and is admirably adapted for speculative cutting up. Buyers of suburban land will find nine valuable building allotments adjoining McNab’s Gardens and Ludlam Park, which were, by special request, withheld from sale last May, when the other portion was sold. They are quarter-acre sections, and front the Waiwetu road and Nikau avenue. They are now being sold to close up the. accounts of the MoNab estate. Adjoining the main entrance to McNab’s Gardens will be found a splendid building site of some three acres, well laid out as an ornamental garden, orchard in full bearing, garden paths, etc., ready for the erection of a first-class residence. The terms of sale are specially liberal for the purchase of any one of the properties mentioned, full details of which are published in the auction column.

Tenders are invited for lease for five years, with right of renewal, of a farm of 628 acres, with dwelling and buildings, at the junction of Coal creek and the Pohangina river. Messrs Laery and Co. will sell 11-1 bale? of hay at their rooms, at 12 noon tomorrow. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company will hold a sale of stock at Palmerston North to-day.
