CRICKET
A match between the Combined Drapers and the Oriental Club was commenced at the Basin Reserve yesterday afternoon, but was not concluded, stumps having to be drawn early on account of rain and bad light. The Drapers, in their first innings, made 167 rims (Dixon 79, Gibson 20, Paul 18). Billmon took five wickets for 63 runs and Fulton three for 31. The Orientals, at drawing of stumps, had compiled 29 runs for four wickets (Cooke 13). The Wesley Club having withdrawn from the third-class championship con test, the fixtures for the 9th and 16th inst. have been re-drawn, as follows: College * A v. Midland, at College Ground; College B y. Karori, at College Ground; Vivian v. United, at Karen’ ; Phoenix v. Old Boys No. 1, Athletic Park; Johnsoimlle v. Kilbirnie No 2, Athletic Park. Tho following arc the junior fixtures for next Saturday : —Wellington v. College, College ground; Phoenix v. Old Boys, No. 3. The unfinished match -Midland Av. Kilbirnie’B will be continued on No. 4 wicket.
