WELLINGTON GOLF CLUB

The annual meeting of the Wellington Golf Club was held last evening in the Art Gallery. Mr John Coom was voted to the chair, and there was a good attendance of members.

The report and balance-sheet showed the club to be in a flourishing and satisfactory condition. The report stated that tho new clubhouse had been comfortably furnished, and would be a further attraction to members to visit the links. During the past year the championship of New Zealand was won by Mr Arthur Duncan. The Men’s Club Championship was won by air Arthur Duncan, and the Ladies’ Club Championship by Airs A. Pearce. The deck competititions were won by Mrs Todd and Mr A. J, Abbott. An amendment of the rules, in the direction of giving lady members equal rights with men in the election of officers of the club, was carried unanimously. On the motion of the chairman, the Earl of Ranfurly was elected patron of the club.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing'year :—Captain, Mr James Coates ; lion, Mr Malcolm Ross ; lion treasurer, Mr H. V. Baxter ; lion, auditor, Mr W. Higginson; committee, Messrs A. Pearce, Jackson, Duncan and Coom.

The ladies nave deleted Mrs H. D. Bell as captain, Miss Duncan as hon. secretary, and a committee consisting of these ladies, together with Mrs Adanls and Miss Izard.

A vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring officers of the club.
