SYDNEY, March 6. Sir WilliamLyno states that New, South Wales cannot now withdraw from the agreement with the Eastern Extension Company, nor does she wish to. He has instructed the Agent-General (Hon H. Copeland) to explain the whole circumstances to Mr Chamberlain.. (Received March 7, 0.18 , a.m.) OTTAWA. March 6.
The Canadian House of Commons has unanimously voted five-eightcouths of the cost of the Pacific cable. The Post-master-General (tho Hon W. Unlock), referring to the concession granted to the Eastern Extension Company by New South Wales, said it was now too lata for Cane da, to recede, inasmuch as a contract providing for the construction of the Pacific cable had been signed. He denied that any . arrangement with the Eastern Extension Company had bean entered into.
