THE BUBONIC PLAGUE
SPREAD OF THE DISEASE. FRESH CASES AT THE CAPE. THE OUTBREAK IN AUSTRALIA. LONDON, March 5. Four fresh cases of plague are reported from Capetown—two whites and two Kaffirs.' SYDNEY, March 6. Considerable delay is being caused to shipping owing to the quarantining and fumigating in the harbour and the vicinity of the quarantine ground. It is an unusual thing,to see so many big liners. The detention of the pilots aboard is also hampering the service. PERTH, March 6. The plague has made its appearance here., Mr Kenworthy, head of a firm of city grocers, died, and it was subsequently discovered that the cause of death was plague. A man named Gnf'fiths, employed by the Kenworthys, developed suspicious symptoms, and was removed to a hospital, which has been quarantined. A third supposed case is that of a Chinaman residing in the Federal Buildings. ■ All contacts are being inoculated, and strenuous precautions aro being taken to prevent spread of the scourge. The , Government has authorised the Board of Health to spare no expense- . Owing to the outbreak of plague, it is possible that the Imperial troops will > not land here-
