The Customs returns for yesterday amounted to £-3259 14s. Messrs Laery and Co.. Ltd,, report tlio following wholesale selling prices f.n the Wellington produce market: Wheat. 2s 7d to 2s 8d per bushel; oats p, lOd to 2s 2d; barley, 2s; maize. 3s; flour, £7 per ton; pollard, £4 Ids; bran, £3 15s; oatmeal. £10; chaff. £3 ss: hay, £4 ss; field beans, 3s per bushel; field peas, 3s 4d; potatoes, £4 to £4 15s per ton; .onions, £G to £6 10s; ryegrass seed, 2s 9d to 4s 3d per bushel; cocksfoot seed, 2id to 'Ud per pound; butter, dairy 7d to Bd, separator 9d: cheese, old; factory bacon, G’jd; fowls, 2s 9d per pair; roosters, 3s per pair; ducks, 3s 3d to 3s 9d per pair; turkeys, 7s to- 10s per pair; geese, 4s 6cl per pair; fresh eggs, Is Id to Is 3d per dozen. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams, report on their Johnsonville. sale;—Fat cattle equal to requirements, made their values. With few exceptions the quality was very indifferent, especially the cows. Fat bullocks, £7 10s to £S 10s; stores and light weight. £5 os to £7 ; fat nows, £4 to £4 12s 6d. Sheep were in larger supply. Heavy wethers were easier; .other sorts were without alteration. Prime wethers, 15s 6d to 16s Gd; extra, 17s; good wethers, 14s 10d; lighter, 14s; prime owes. 13s lid: extra. 15s; fat ewes, 12s to 13s 3d; lambs. 8s 3d to 10s. THE STOCK MARKET. PBESS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER, March 5. Messrs Williams and Kettle, at their Waipukurau monthly slock sale to-day. offered a very full yarding of sheep and cattle. There was a largo attendance of West Coast and Canterbury buyers. Cattle realised from £2 15s for yearling steers up to £6 11s 6d for 3-year-old bullocks; fat, heavy cows, £6 16s Gd. Sheep, in sympathy with outside markots, showed a fall in prices. The best lots were passed, bub a number of lines were quitted at from 9s to 12s 6d for 2 and 4-tooth ewes; 8s to 11s for 2-tooth wethers; 9s 9d to 10s 4d for 4 and 6tooth wethers, inferior and medium sorts.
