NAPIER, March At the quarterly meeting of the Napier Licensing Committee, held to-day. the police reported unfavourably on the manner in which the Caledonian Hotel was conducted during: the last cpiartei. Complaints were made of frequent row's in the hotel, and on February 16th, after midnight, a fight took place there, tho police having to bo called in to put a stop to the disturbance. It was shown that since then a competent manage! had been put in, and the hotel was now satisfactorily conducted. After considering tho police report, the committee was of opinion that the license must be transferred within one month. CHRISTCHURCH, March 4.
